Portobello studios are one of the best establishments where quality counts in the island of Naxos in the centre of the Cyclades. The island is blessed with a very mild climate and especially in the summer , when the wind Meltemi , a fresh and dry wind, makes staying on the beaches ,even in the hot days ,very pleasant. Beautiful beaches and these in front of the studios, makes the island one of the favourites of the windsurfers in all Europe.
Portobello studios provides accommodation for 2 or 4 persons all with panoramic view of sea from their covered private verandas, parking , privacy for each one ,bathrooms with showers ,kitchenette all done in good taste, the service include cleanness and fresh linen twice weekly.
Portobello is managed by its owners who are very hospitable. They speak fluent English good Italian and French..
The site is only 400 metres away from a beautiful beach 3 klms long which even in August you will find places deserted. The sand of the beach has the composition of thick granules which does not hit you when the wind blows and does not stick to you but if you wish to avoid the wind there are small alcoves where you are alone and protected ,all within 3 mins by car.
The island of Naxos is one of the best destinations for practicing windsurfing in all Aegean . It is not congested thanks to the long and beautiful beaches and you will always find a place where ,the favourable "meltemi" wind specially stronger in August will give you the chance to practice windsurfing.Minutes away from Portobello you will find the village of Mikri Vigla where one can also hire and/or learn this sport.
